I am disciplined, principled, sporty, musical and ambitious. A quick thinker and fast learner with a very broad academic background and an interest in a wide range of topics, I’m able to understand, help understand and tackle complex subjects. I present and write about them well. I like a challenge and strive for results and mastery of my trade. Through my work and preferably as part of an enthusiastic and driven team, I want to make a visible contribution to a worthy cause.

Biography

After high school I wanted to either go into engineering or nature management. I started with a year of Electrical Engineering, but after the propaedeutic year I continued with Forest and Nature Management at the University of Wageningen. After my propaedeutic year there, I transferred to Utrecht University to study Biogeology. After a year in Utrecht I also studied Philosophy and took some history courses. In 2005 I graduated as a Biologist (Master of Science Biology) and Ethicist (Master of Arts in Applied Ethics).

After some short wanderings I started working in IT. I have always liked programming and the concrete assignments in IT suit me better than working in policy or education. In order to be prepared, I first did a traineeship in SAP, but as a developer I like the Microsoft environment much better. As I gained experience, I began to feel disappointed that I was doing so little with the broad university education for which I had worked so hard. At PRé Sustainability I found a good match between software development and work with impact for 10 years. I hope to find that match in my freelance assignments as well.
